The UK is ready to advance with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russia's funds to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the move would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

United Kingdom restrictions have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, up to this point, money provided to Ukraine using Russia's funds had only been drawn from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their desire to advance efforts toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional measures over the next period would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows EU officials met in the Danish capital previously to consider utilizing seized Russian assets for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize frozen Russian holdings, according to news outlets.

The value of seized Russia's assets in the EU is calculated to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive bombardments throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the city, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were killed and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the strike, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a post on social media after the incident, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack focused on non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not empty words but concrete steps - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which alliance members purchase weapons from the America to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the program, as well as impose additional measures on Russia.
