The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Actor for Bentham in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola is joined by multiple recently announced actors who will portray the organization to the screen, such as leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though the role is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest additional alterations to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the part. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
