“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the situation for the moment. However in stating this is the reality, I am not saying that I am pessimistic. Not at all. My point is we are on the cusp, extremely close to turn things around.”

“Really, Really Close”

Nancy highlights the fact his team show good levels for one half at a time. Indeed, if not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been more than 1-0 up. “There were positives except the fact that we missed more goals,” he said. “I accept that we lost, but it's important to stay objective.

“The level we had at times was exceptionally high. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was different. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I noted it's a repeating pattern. For that reason I said that a change is coming to things turning around. But for the moment: the fine margins.”

“We produced plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. The issue now it’s about sustaining it. My narrative would not be if I didn't believe it. Therefore I am convinced we’re going to be able to fix this.”

Opposition Reaction Outlook

The victorious boss played down talk of a title charge despite what appeared to be a landmark win. “We take it game by game, so we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The belief in the team is excellent.”
