A campaign is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The track features a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The group managing the campaign have stated that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”
